FEATURING:

Blues Train (Israel)

Manchester born Mike Pery, the lead singer of Jerusalem's legendary blues bands, "Blues Train", will be flying in from Israel for the gig. Like so many bands in J'town, Blues Train was born out of The Mikes Place jam sessions and despite charted success following the release of their self-titled first album, Blues Train remain true to their roots as regular guests on The Mikes Place music scene.

Pery will be performing with a stripped down version of the original band with Gadi Sheinfeld on drums and Andrei Goldenthal on bass. With the release of their second album next month, Pery's eclectic mix of delta blues, soul and Jewish gospel influences, are set to exceed past successes.

Blues Train are close friends of those who lost their lives in the homicide bombing and remain a regular act on the stage at Mikes Place in both Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.

Pylon

www.pylonline.co.uk

Pylon is a band from the city of Wakefield, England. Formed in the summer of 1998 they have established themselves at the core of a new wave of UK underground guitar bands.

With two well received e.p's and a UK and European Tour under their belt Pylon seem to be moving from strength to strength and have been widely tipped to emerge as one of the UK's latest, brightest hopes on the British pop/rock scene.

At times the melodies and words in Pylon's work to date evoke a sense of melancholy yet the music is intense, loud, yet melodic enough to uncover all the pop sensibilities from within the bands sound.

It's hard to compare Pylon with any other band but if you imagine the guitar dynamics of Radiohead at their rockiest, the lush vocal harmonies of The Posies, backed up by a hard, tight rhythm section. Then add an extra layer of Rhodes piano and a hint of northern charm and play the whole thing LOUD…!

Here is a band many consider to be ahead of their time, an epic assault for all the senses, and perhaps the best kept secret of the UK underground.

Chris Charlton (guitar / vocals), Joe Maples (guitar, vocals), Chris Bonner (bass / vocals), Paul Denny (drums), Rob Taylor (Rhodes piano)

Electric Experience

www.electricexperience.com

This is some of the best ‘White Man’ blues I’ve heard in a very long time…this is the real deal. Heartfelt singing; as for the guitar playing, you can hear the tears falling off the guitar strings…After Skeleton Crew, the Electric Experience is the best UK blues band I’ve heard in the last ten years.”
Dave Green - (Back Street Heroes)

"Excellent Lead Guitarist" - Time Out

"Abundance of instrumental talent" - Blueprint
